Policy 26.0 - OUT-OF-PROVINCE TEAM PLAYING IN AN ONTARIO LEAGUE


26.1A League in Ontario wishing to permit a non-Ontario team to play in it, must apply annually for permission, in accordance with the following procedures:
a)
it must apply to, and obtain permission from, its own governing organization to allow the non-Ontario team play in its league;
b)
after completion of a), it must apply to the O.S.A., on a form provided by the O.S.A., by no later than November 30 (for an Outdoor League) and by no later than July 1 (for an Indoor League);
c)
the application form must be accompanied by all of the following items:
i)
"Full Team Identification" for the out-of-proince team applying to play in league;
ii)
proof that the team is operated by a Club affiliated to a governing organization;
iii)
a copy of the Club's Constitution;
iv)
a list of the Club's Executive Committee, complete with names, position titles, addresses, and telephone numbers; and
v)
a copy of the written approval by the Club's governing organization that it approves the participation of the team in the Ontario league;
d)
the applicable League Management Committee shall review the application and make its recommendation to the Board of Directors by no later than January 31 (for an Outdoor League) and by no later than July 31 (for an Indoor League);
e)
the Board of Directors shall consider approval of the applications at its February meeting for an Outdoor League, and at its August meeting for an Indoor League;
f)
the Board of Directors may approve such an application, at its discretion, even when the specified timelines have not been met;
g)
the Executive Committee may act on behalf of the Board of Directors in these matters between meetings of the Board; and
h)
the Club must provide proof of insurance for its Club, team and players for games played in the Ontario League.
