Policy 6.0 - TOURNAMENT RULES


6.1Rules

Tournament rules acceptable to The OSA shall be submitted, otherwise the tournament will be governed by The OSA's Tournament Rules.
6.2Age Division

Tournaments may be played:
a)at the North American, Inter-National, and Inter-Provincial classes, by Under-10 age divisions and above;
b)at the Inter-District and District classes, by all age divisions.
6.3Team Eligibility
a)All teams must be registered with their Provincial, State, or National Association.
b)When applying to take part in a tournament, each team must attach to the tournament application form written proof of "Permission To Travel" duly authorized by its governing Association.
c)In North American and Inter-National Class Tournaments, all teams from outside Ontario must supply proof of accident/injury/illness medical insurance to the Tournament Host not later than seven days prior to the tournament.
d)Teams may only use players who are registered with them, except as otherwise stipulated.
6.4Laws Of the Game

All games shall be played in accordance with the Laws Of The Game observed by the O.S.A. and the C.S.A.
6.5Duration of Games
a)The following tournaments shall not exceed the permitted time limit per day:
i)Under-10 and belownot to exceed 120 minutes per day
ii)Under-11 to Under-14not to exceed 150 minutes per day
iii)Under-15 and abovenot to exceed 180 minutes per day
b)There must be a minimum of one hour between each game played by any team.
6.6The OSA's Tournament Rules
(to be used if acceptable tournament rules are not sumitted to the governing organization by the host organizaiton)
6.6.1Number of Players Dressed In A Game

Teams may only dress and play up to a maximum of sixteen players in each game of the tournament.
6.6.2Substitution
a)There is no limit to the number of substitutions that may be made during a game.
b)Substitutions may be made at any stoppage in play, subject to the discretion of the referee.
c)No substitution will be allowed for a player dismissed from the game by the referee for an offence under Law XII - Fouls and Misconduct
6.6.3Protests
a)Protests, which may only be made by a team coach or manager, must be in writing and delivered, with a minimum fee of $30.00 to the Tournament Chair or his/her designate within one hour of the end of the game in question.
b)The decision of the Tournament Host shall be final.
6.7In instances when the Tournament Host's Tournament Rules conflict with The OSA's Tournament Rules, The OSA's rules shall apply.
