Policy 3.0 - TOURNAMENTS DEFINITIONS


3.1A Tournament Host must be one of the following:
a)The OSA
b)a District Association
c)an Affiliated Club
d)an Affiliated League
3.2A Tournament Host may host more than one class of tournament at the same time. Teams are eligible to participate in only one of those tournaments.
3.3A Tournament will consist of a series of games between a minimum of 4 teams.
3.4A Tournament shall consist of a series of games played within no more than seven (7) consecutive days or over no more than three (3) weekends during a playing season.
3.5Any Tournament Host shall be restricted to hosting no more than one Tournament per playing season in any particular:
  1. Tournament Classification (as defined in Competitions Policy 4.0 - Tournament Classifications)
  2. Gender Classification
  3. Age Classification.
3.6The Ontario Cup “Tournament Rounds” shall be exempt from 3.4 and 3.5 above.
3.7A tournament may be played under the rules of any of the following types of soccer:
  1. outdoor soccer played under the Laws Of The Game
  2. mini-soccer played under the OSA's Mini-Soccer Rules
  3. indoor soccer played under the OSA's Playing Rules of Indoor Soccer
  4. futsal played under the FIFA Futsal Laws Of The Game
  5. 3 v 3 soccer subject to the tournament rules
  6. beach soccer subject to the tournament rules
